FRESHMEN! Come to the ʻAkahi Dining Hall on Friday, January 18, 2019 for A Night Under the Stars! The freshman class board is planning another AMAZING event as we start off the second semester.
The dance begins at 5PM and ends at 9PM. Doors close at 6:30PM. If you will arrive after 6:30pm, please pick up a LATE PASS at the 'Akahi Student Center. *Remember to bring your current KS ID. NO ID = $5 or 2 hours detention. There WILL be a bag check for your personal belongings. You WILL need to check-in your bags/personal belongings when you enter the social. |
Casual Attire Guidelines for the Dance:
ALL clothing must be in good taste. Clothing must not have obscene pictures, vulgarity or promotion of alcohol or drugs. NO scanty attire. Pajamas are NOT allowed. Slippers ARE OK :)
Any infraction of casual dress code guidelines will be referred to the grade level VP.
Shirts

Shirts
- All shirts should be unaltered and have sleeves.
- Shirts must be long enough to tuck in. NO midriffs!
- Necklines must be modest and appropriate. NO plunging or low necklines and/or armholes.
- Absolutely NO sleeveless tops allowed. NO spaghetti strap tops, tank-tops or blouses (even under sweaters or jackets).
- Jeans are OK.
- Distressed/Ripped jeans are OK as long as the rip is not showing skin.
- NO leggings, athletic pants, yoga pants, running pants, NO compression pants, NO workout wear.
- Sweatpants are OK as long as they are properly fitted and not hanging off.
- Capris are OK.
- Bermuda shorts are OK.
- Board shorts are OK.
- Denim shorts are OK.
- Athletic shorts are OK, however they must be knee length and fit properly. NO volleyball shorts, Daisy Dukes or short shorts.
DANCING GUIDELINES:
While students are in school, we want to remind students that their actions and behaviors are a reflection upon Kamehameha Schools and its values. We recognize that dancing at student activities has become an increasing concern among faculty, administration, parents and even students. Therefore, we will be enforcing the following:
Dance styles which include freaking, twerking and grinding and anything that is sexually suggestive in nature is unacceptable.
If students are not in compliance, then DJ will be asked to adjust the music. If students still cannot comply, then the lights will be turned on for the remainder of the dance. Students must be in dress code at all times.
