The THEME for this year’s Senior Prom is Enchanted Forest. The prom will be held from 5:30pm - 10:00pm at Koʻolau Ballrooms on Saturday, May 7, 2022.
Tickets for senior prom are available for purchase ONLINE from our FACTS site (see details to the left). There will be TWO ROUNDS of ticket sales. Please CAREFULLY review the PARENT Assessment Letter here: https://bit.ly/22SrPromLetter. You will want to review the memo in its entirety. The letter outlines details about:
Students may purchase a maximum of TWO (2) tickets, one for the student and one for their guest (for SENIOR prom, guests must be in high school or no older than 20 years of age). Please note that ALL sales must be completed ONLINE (debit/credit cards and bank account info required). Students will be given a form titled “Kamehameha Schools Prom/Banquet Guidelines: Record of Understanding and Agreement”. Students will need to review the guidelines with you, and both you and your student will need to complete the form. If your student is bringing a guest, the guest and their parent/guardian will also need to complete the form. Students must bring the completed form with them during ticket pick-up, which is from Monday, May 2 through Thursday, May 5 (the week of prom). *If the form is NOT completed and turned in by Thursday, May 5, students may STILL attend prom. They would need to bring their COMPLETED form (and IDs) to the "WILL CALL" table on the NIGHT of prom. Please keep in mind that per the Parent Assessment Letter: #6 - "...regardless of vaccination status, ALL GUESTS MUST show proof of a NEGATIVE COVID test within 24 hours of the prom. Rapid tests may be used." #9 - "Face masks MUST be worn AT ALL TIMES unless actively eating, drinking or taking professional photos with House of Photography." Please be sure to speak with your student about the Senior Prom. It is the ONLY KS Sponsored event of the evening. |
Banquet and Prom Reminders
Proms are just around the corner! Should your son or daughter attend Senior Prom and/or be invited as a guest to Junior Prom, we want to make you aware of a few guidelines.
Dresses must fall at the knee at all times. The shortest part of the dress hem should fall at the knee. Longer dresses are OK. Slips or other garments may NOT be used and/or guests shall NOT pull their dresses down to meet the “at the knee” rule. Individuals who purchase lycra-type dresses must ensure that even while walking, dancing, etc., the dress is at the knee and should not have to be pulled down to meet the requirement. At no time should the dress need to be pulled down or altered to meet the requirement.
Should individuals be found at any time in the evening with a dress that does not meet this guideline, they will be asked to leave or parents will be asked to bring a dress that meets the guidelines. We will not be allowing individuals to leave and return once they've checked in, and we will not be providing them with material to help get them into compliance. This guideline stems from ongoing challenges with students and guests in making sure their dresses are of an appropriate length for a high school function.
In addition, students will be asked to remain at the function for the duration of the event. In the past, students would leave well before the end of the function, causing parent chaperones to question whether parents knew their children were leaving early. We want to ensure that our students are safe and where they are supposed to be. If there is an extenuating circumstance, please contact the class advisor for the event.
Unacceptable dance styles include freaking, twerking and grinding. If not in compliance, the DJ will be asked to adjust the music. If still cannot comply, then the lights will be turned on for the remainder of the dance.
Please note that students MUST attend all classes on Friday, May 6 in order to participate in any extracurricular or athletic event scheduled for that day, evening or weekend. This includes proms and dances.
